Nelia Castro disputerte 17. desember, 2012, med sin PhD. avhandling; «Alkali-Aggregate Reactions in Concrete. Study of the relationship between aggregate petrographic properties versus expansion tests». Nelia er nå ansatt hos Norut (Northern Research Institute) i Narvik.
